Parking attendants are just doing jobs
To the editor:We are considered a nuisance by a lot of people, but we are there for a purpose. To make sure the people with the right hangtags park in the right area. To be courteous and helpful when possible. To give directions and help in finding the right place or person.We cannot check your hangtags when they are backwards, upside down, sideways, sticking straight out, behind tinted windows or sunscreens, in your glove compartment, purse, briefcase, backseat or trunk, or when you run thru the gate without stopping or even slowing down, or on opposite sides of a windshield from our window. The gates are not there for decoration. That's why they're located behind or between large red STOP signs. We do not make parking rules or regulations, set fees for parking or know where parking is available in other lots during peak hours. We do not receive special parking places and pay the same fees as you.
We do try to be courteous and helpful at all times, but sometimes it is very hard to do. Your help would be greatly appreciated so we can help you better.
